A New Chapter Rooted in Healing

Welcome to Salt Spring Apothecary, a beautiful new organic skincare business and a gentle new branch of New Moon Organics.

My name is Tracey, founder of New Moon Organics. For over 25 years, creating organic skincare has been one of the greatest joys of my life. What began as a small dream grew into decades of exploring, creating, designing, and sharing handmade organic products with so many wonderful people.

That journey has shaped more than three quarters of my life so far, and I carry deep gratitude for every part of it.

While New Moon Organics has now been retired, the heart behind it continues here in a softer, slower, more intentional way.

The Pause That Changed Everything

Just days before launching a new phase of my business, I experienced a traumatic brain injury, and everything stopped.

And I truly mean everything.

Over the last two and a half years, life has asked me to create deep space for healing, rest, and reflection. During that time, I made the brave decision to leave Southern Ontario and move west to British Columbia.

A year ago, we settled into our tiny little home on Salt Spring Island.

The quiet beauty of island life has changed me deeply. It has taught me how to move slower, listen closer, and honour what healing truly requires.

There is still so much I hope to share in time, stories, reflections, and the unfolding journey ahead.

But for now, this is where the next chapter begins.

Creating a Business in a New Way

Salt Spring Apothecary was born from a desire to recreate a way of living and working that feels aligned with my authentic self while still honouring my need for deep healing.

This business will grow slowly, intentionally, and gently.

I am starting very small, allowing space for ease, softness, and balance every step of the way.

There will be mistakes.

There will be setbacks.

There may even be moments where I feel like giving up.

But healing is not linear, and neither is building something meaningful.

I believe there is beauty in sharing the messy middle.

In being vulnerable enough to not always be okay, while still staying connected and openhearted.

As I continue healing, this business will evolve alongside me.

And I welcome all of it.
